About
EVERY MOVE COUNTS! đśââď¸đ When we talk about being physically active, a lot of people immediately think about going to the gym, running or doing a fitness class. But physical activity is so much more than that. Walking the dog, gardening, dancing around the kitchen, playing with the kids or even getting up and moving around more often throughout the day all count as movement. And the best part? You don't have to do heaps of it to start seeing benefits. It's recommended that adults aim for at least 150 minutes of moderate-intensity physical activity each week, along with activities that strengthen our muscles, to aid in the prevention of illnesses such as different types of cancer and chronic diseases. But if you're nowhere near that at the moment, that's okay. Some movement is better than none, and you can build up over time. That's why I'm putting together Everybody Moves: The First Step, a FREE four-week online program through Genki Fit. Over four weeks, we'll look at: đś What actually counts as physical activity â¤ď¸ Why movement is so important for our health đŞ Simple ways to sit less and move more đŞ Different types of movement and why they matter đ How to build movement into your everyday life There'll be short articles, quizzes, beginner-friendly workouts and weekly challenges you can do at your own pace. No gym membership needed. No expensive equipment. No expectation that you're already fit. Just practical information and a little encouragement to get moving. Because everybody moves, and every move counts. â¤ď¸
