🚌Fill the Bus for Ballarat

Bus-Sized donations for the Soup Bus!
At Genki Fit, we talk a lot about health starting in the kitchen… but what happens when access to food isn’t a given?

Back in December 2024, as SoupBus Ballarat put out urgent calls for support, we saw just how real food insecurity was in our own community. Genki Fit has always been about making fitness accessible - but this felt bigger than that. We swapped our usual $5 class fee for $5 worth of non-perishable food… and Sweat for the SoupBus was born. That first drive filled an entire car with donations, plus a $50 voucher from Sinclair Meats - a simple idea that showed just how generous this community really is.

By World Hunger Day 2025, things had grown in the best way. Local legends including Rotary Club of Ballarat South, Woady Yaloak Football Netball Club, Smythesdale Pharmacy, Sinclair Meats, Ballarat Baha’i Community, and Goodstart Early Learning jumped on board.
Together, we collected:
-
500 items at the event alone
-
Over 930 donations in total
-
$480 in Sinclair Meats vouchers

All of it going straight to SoupBus Ballarat to support people doing it tough.

This initiative is still one of the proudest things we’ve done at Genki Fit. Because it showed that when this community comes together, we don’t just fill a bus: we fill hearts, bellies, and the gaps that too many fall through.

Looking ahead to 2026… let’s go even bigger.

This May, we’re setting our biggest goal yet:
👉 1,000 items donated for SoupBus

In the lead-up to World Hunger Day (May 28), Genki Fit is proud to support Ballarat SoupBus through our community-wide donation campaign, Fill the Bus for Ballarat. We're calling on our amazing Genki crew — and the wider Ballarat community: to donate non-perishable food, toiletries, and essentials to help support locals doing it tough this winter.

From May 25–30, all Genki Fit classes will be “free”: with your session paid for through a donation.
-
Bring along non-perishable food = you’re in 💛
-
No donation? No stress. Your usual $5 will go towards a Sinclair Meats voucher for SoupBus
It’s simple. It’s collective. And it makes a real difference.

Let’s see what we can do together this time.
